I'm looking for resources to write a health care plan for Acute Epstein Barr Virus  infection. Does anyone have one in their toolbox? Please and thank you!

    Hi Ambra,

Since EBV is typically an acute short term illness, I am wondering if just an email to the involved staff with be appropriate for you student.

If the doctor has provided suggested accommodations, I would relay this to to the school team. If not, here are some suggestions I would send out:

    • avoid gym class and sports until they get cleared by a doctor (the virus can cause the spleen to enlarge, creating a risk of rupture)
    • modify their school day due to tiredness or other symptoms
    • Rest in health room as needed
    • Unlimited water bottle access
    • Unlimited bathroom privileges
    • Encourage meeting with counselor to prevent depressions and/or assess school work load to prevent falling behind

    Hope this helps,

    Laura
