Hello CASN community! I can't believe spring break has come and gone so quickly. And as all "cool" things have come to an end, so has the Winter NASN Board meeting. As the CASN Director, I will be continuing as a  member of the advocacy committee and will be joining the finance committee.

The directors have worked hard on legislative issues on Hill Day and many of us have developed strong foundations with legislators. We are being sought out for our opinions in legislation and in the press for our ideas and our reasoning, our needs, and what we do for student health. Our hard work and dedication to school children is receiving national attention and has paid off!

I wanted to share a BIG win from Hill Day - Senator Tester (Montana) re-introduced the NURSE Act (Nurses for Under-Resourced School Everywhere). Here is the press release:

Tester Fights to Improve Student Health in Underserved Montana Districts with NURSE Act to Hire More SchoThiol Nurses - Senator Jon Tester (senate.gov).

The passing of this act would support rural and underserved schools in Colorado as well.

Perhaps reach out to your  Senator or Congress Representative and share what this act means to you and the school children you represent.

Hoping to see many of you at the spring workshop! And as always, please contact me with any questions, thoughts, or concerns.

    Namaste
