Colorado School Nurses,

The 2020-2021 School Year has begun for many of us. For others, the beginning of your in-person school year is approaching. To say that these are unprecedented times is an understatement. To all our School Nurses across the state, we see you and all that you are doing.

We see you working late hours & weekends. We see you juggling multiple roles and schools with calmness and determination. We see you fighting for best practice and speaking out when it is hard. We see your resilience and perseverance. We see your creativity in serving students during remote, hybrid, and in-person learning. Most of all we see you doing what school nurses have always done, advocating for the health, safety, and academic success for all students across this state.

School Nurses are more than bumps, bruises, and bandaids. School Nurses play a pivotal role in student success, and are essential to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for children to thrive and learn in.

Each day I am in awe of the experience, creativity, and professionalism of School Nurses. We may be in different places but we are still connected. Reach out to one another, be there for each other. We are one voice for each other; and we are better together. Thank you for all you do and continue to day for the students across our state.

Have a safe and healthy year!
