Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year.
I am starting my fourth year as a member of your Colorado Association of School Nurses executive board, and it is a pleasure to work with so many smart, passionate, dedicated school nurses from across our state. This is shaping up to be an exciting and interesting year. Exciting because our national NASN conference will be in Colorado June 28-July 1, 2019. And interesting because CASN continues to be at the forefront of state legislative issues.
All of this work requires the efforts of a lot of people. I encourage each of you to consider how you can be involved in our continuing education efforts, our legislative efforts, and our work to help NASN host the best national conference ever!
It is through a strong organization and our work together that we all find success. Our work, now more than ever, requires school nurses to be collaborative and unified. I encourage each of you to reach out and work with your fellow school nurses, not just within your school or district or town, but in your neighboring districts, counties and across the state. I look forward to seeing many of you at our annual fall conference in Loveland as we “Breakthrough to Excellence!”
